Michael Brown

I’ve produced this video from clips taken from residents on the day Michael Brown was shot and killed.  A number of the clips from across the street where Ace Johnson taped had to be spliced together from shorter clips, so you’ll notice a bit of editing.  If anyone has anymore clips that I didn’t include, let me know and I’ll insert them as well. I put the clips in chronological order.

Michael Brown was born May 20, 1996 and on August 9, 2014 stood 6’4″ tall and weighed 292 lbs. On August 9th, Michael was staying in Ferguson according to his grandmother, with her.  However, according to Daryl Parks, Brown family attorney, Michael was staying with friends.

gradphotoMichael took part in graduation ceremonies at school on March 4, 2014 but truth be told, Michael still needed more credits to graduate. Mike needed an alternative learning program to overcome his lack of academic skills. He took summer school and finished the requirement on August 1, 2014. See this link to read about the culture of beating up security guards at Mike’s high school, written in May 2013 by Elisa Crouch of the Post Dispatch.

Reports suggest Michael was to begin classes on August 11, 2014 at Vatterrott College, a technical school, to learn how to fix, repair & maintain furnaces and air conditioners. It’s unclear what school Mike planned on attending because St. Louis, MO didn’t offer the HVAC course starting August 11th.  Click on link provided for locations offering HVAC courses.

On August 9, 2014 (times are Central Standard Time) according to an information package released by Ferguson Chief Thomas Jackson on August 15, 2014 the following timeline can be determined.

map

11:48am – Officer Darren Wilson and an ambulance crew were at an unrelated call about a sick person

11:49am – Michael and his friend, Dorian Johnson entered Ferguson’s Market and Liquor store and Michael robbed the store of some Swisher Sweet Cigarillos. According to police report valued at $48.99

11:51am – A 911 call comes in about a ‘strong- armed’ robbery at a nearby convenience store – Surveillance Video

11:52am – Police radio dispatch gives a description of two robbery suspects who assaulted a clerk and stole Swisher Sweet cigars. The clerk says the suspects were walking toward the QuickTrip gas station

Noon – Officer Wilson leaves the home of the sick call.

12:01pm – Officer Wilson encounters Michael Brown & Dorian Johnson walking in the middle of the street in the 2900 block of Canfield Drive.

12:02:14pm – Audio/Video starts recording in nearby apartment appears to have captured 10 gun shots.

12:02:22 – According to event log (Page 14/19) second officer dispatched to scene.

12:04pm – A second officer arrives on scene and the ambulance from the sick call arrives to give Brown medical attention. He is declared dead at the scene.

12:05pm – A supervisor was dispatched and other officers arrive at the scene of the shooting.

12:05:03pm – This picture was posted on twitter from someone who lived in the apartments on the north side of Canfield. (Note: the time of the tweet will display in your time zone, you need to convert it to CST if you don’t live in the CST zone)

A short time later (minutes) police have crime scene tape up and people from the apartments on the south side of Canfield start coming out to see what is going on.  Below is one of their videos. This video captures EMT approaching Brown’s body 3.17 minutes into the video being recorded.

So what happened?

Most witnesses seem to agree that there was a tussle of some sort between Mike Brown and the Officer while the Officer was inside the car and Mike Brown was at the SUV window.

Clearly the Officer wanted to exit his vehicle but according to Dorian Johnson, the door hit them and closed again.  Dorian goes on to say the officer grabbed Michael by the neck but I noted in Dr. Baden’s report, he saw no injury or bruising to Michael’s body. He saw no signs of a struggle on the teen.  In one telling of this part, Dorian says the officer was pulling Michael’s arms inside the car.

Some witnesses reported hearing a shot fired and then saw Dorian and Mike run.  Dorian said he saw a shot fired and Mike was hit on his right front side. Piaget Crenshaw and Tiffany Mitchell don’t mention a second person (Dorian Johnson) at the scene.  They just concentrate on the activity between the officer and Brown.

Word spread among residents that Michael Brown had his hands up but got shot anyway. At 5:02 of the video above, the person tells us he was told Michael had his hands up. This was mere minutes after the shooting.

Piaget Crenshaw, Dorian Johnson and Tiffany Mitchell also say that Michael had his hands up when he turned around. All 3 backed off how high those hands were after the autopsy report was released on August 17th showing a number of shots to Michael’s upper right arm. Dr. Baden, hired by the Brown family, to conduct a 2nd independent autopsy, is of the opinion all the shots that hit Michael were fired from the front.
autopsy2
Shaun Parcell and Daryl Parks added a red mark to the back of the diagram of the autopsy report, previously published in the New York Times, and tried to explain at a presser held August 18th, how that bullet might have hit Michael from behind. In subsequent interviews, however, Dr. Baden was consistent, all shots fired came from the front.

According to a source familiar with Officer Darren Wilson’s statement, he says he fired at a fleeing Mr. Brown but those shots missed and that at one point, Michael put his hands up and turned around to face him. Then all of a sudden, Michael started to bum-rush him and he opened fire again.  The Officer believes toxicology reports will reveal that Michael Brown was “on something” to behave so aggressively towards the officer.

Frances Robles of the New York Times writes

According to his account to the Ferguson police, Officer Wilson said that Mr. Brown had lowered his arms and moved toward him, law enforcement officials said. Fearing that the teenager was going to attack him, the officer decided to use deadly force. Some witnesses have backed up that account. Others, however — including Mr. Johnson — have said that Mr. Brown did not move toward the officer before the final shots were fired.

According to Dr. Baden’s preliminary autopsy, Mr. Brown was shot 6 times and all shots were survivable but for one. The one to the apex of his head. As Michael Brown stood 6’4″ tall, his head had to have been pointed at the officer for it to have been hit.

Dr. Baden also talked about a shot that hit Brown’s right eye. It’s his opinion that when that happened, Brown was perpendicular to the ground because the bullet exited the eye and hit the jaw, exited the jaw and hit the collar bone.  In other words, Brown was falling toward the ground when the shot hit his eye.

As the shots to the arm wouldn’t have made Mike Brown fall, I opine that shot to the top of his head was the second-last shot. It was instantly fatal and Mike Brown started to fall. The last shot hit his eye and because he was falling downwards, the bullet traveled downwards and it exited and re-entered the body twice more.

A sitting grand jury has begun to hear all the evidence in the case.  St. Louis County prosecutor, Bob McCulloch has promised to show every piece of evidence to the Grand Jury in reaching a decision to charge the Officer or not.

The local NAACP has their own investigation going as does the Federal Department of Justice to see if Mr. Brown’s civil rights were violated in any way.

We have been told not to expect anything out of the Grand Jury until at least mid-October.  If the Zimmerman case is any indication of how long an investigation can take at the Federal Level, it’s been over 2 years and still no word on the results of that investigation.  So no one should expect to hear from the Federal branch for years.  Long after Eric Holder is gone.  Who by the way, signaled he’ll be leaving his job sometime after the mid-term elections (November 2014).

If in fact this Officer acted justifiably, the George Zimmerman case will tell you that even up against lynch mobs, lying lawyers, bias, agendas and political pressure, the truth will set you free.

  1. Were the second officer and the ambulance just co-incidentally passing by, or were they summoned or directed to go there?

  2. It’s amazing to see the Scheme Team work through the same playbook, again, isn’t it? They blew it on getting rid of the grand jury, but they’re still pushing to get a special prosecutor again, and of course, the “arress” so that they can start their shake downs by threatening and filing civil suits!

    • Yes, same nightmare all over again with Crump and the lies. Plus this time NBPP stirring the pot even more vigorously creating chaos and hatred. Very disgusting, and really sad for those Ferguson residents that are completely innocent, and for police trying to do their jobs. What hell they are having to live through because of the race baiters and hustlers!

  3. Something is going on with the Go Fund Me campaign for Darren Wilson. Yesterday, I got an update the original page was back in operation. See here: http://www.gofundme.com/SupportOfficerWilson They changed the target amount from $235K to $300K and donations started again.

On the Certified Shield of Hope Go Fund Me Page, they’ve changed the target amount to $197.6K and that’s how much has been donated so far. See here: https://www.gofundme.com/OfficerWilsonFundraiser

On the facebook support page that is the group who started the original Go Fund Me page they posted this message an hour ago

“*IMPORTANT UPDATE*: At this time, please continue to Support Darren Wilson by purchasing shirts, hats, & bracelets (coming soon) via teespring and at rallies. Please redirect Badges for Darren to the Ferguson PD at 222 S. Florissant Rd., Ferguson, MO 63135. Thank you for your continued support. We understand that there will be many unanswered questions & concerns & we will update supporters as soon as we have the answers.”

People are asking if this has anything to do with a campaign and pressure to petition Go Fund Me to shut down the donation page. No response coming yet. http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/dailyrft/2014/08/petition_fundraising_site_should_return_profits_from_support_darren_wilson_campaign.php

    • Thanks for the heads up on the Go Fund Me site. Sounds like the haters are doing their best to close down the donations for Darren Wilson. Will be interesting to see how it is resolved. If they are saying Go Fund Me is profiting on murder and racism, that is certainly not true!

        • Yes, and one person is demanding that everything raised for the cop be turned over to the punk’s family. GoFundMe caved, because they were being accused of making money off a criminal (the cop) – because apparently punk supporters have no idea how our criminal justice system works, they just think that if white kills black, then white must be lynched.

IMO, I they HAD to cave, at least GoFundMe should have just said, since we don’t yet know the facts, we will cease taking money from either side.

The cop’s fund has raised so much more money, I think the punk supporters just can’t stand it. And of course, it has all been raised by racists – not by people who want to see our system of justice play out and let the cop have money for a defense and his living expenses while this all plays out.

          • The GoFundMeSite said the organizers stopped the donations. Here is some more that came out today: http://www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-ferguson-officer-fundraisers-20140831-story.html

The support page on facebook also confirmed, it was people close to Officer Wilson who stopped the donations.

Some opine there could be a legal problem for him with the fund and getting bail set, or having the money available to him could have posed a problem not sure. But it does look like it was not outside pressures that stopped the collection. GoFundMe said they can start again in the future, if they so choose.

            • Another case of wait and see what the facts bear out. IMO it is actually in Wilson’s best interest that some changes be made to how funds a held and handled. I feel confident the funds already collected will go to Wilson as intended at some point. And I’m very glad so many have donated.

            • Another article, this from today. I don’t get it – why is it a problem for the cop’s funds, but not the punk’s funds…?

              • The story has been updated yet again. http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-ferguson-fundraisers-20140901-story.html#page=1

I think the reason this drew attention was because of the rumors surrounding why it stop taking donations. There was an online petition from the Brown supporters to stop it and when it did stop, many thought it was because of that pressure.

The facebook support page hasn’t been helpful either and I’m afraid they are ticking off a lot of people who were asking honest questions. If the article that Mr. Matt Pearce put out today is accurate, it is because the facebook page isn’t run by the same person who started the donation page. A man from Texas, is reported to have started the facebook page and it appears, he has allowed additional administrators from the St. Louis area to help maintain the page. A teenage girl is reported to have started the gofundme page, although Matt’s inquiries to the email address deny that. I got a response once from that email and the person told me they were related to Officer Wilson.

GoFundMe pages have to have a valid facebook account associated with the person raising the funds.

The facebook account that was originally associated with the first donation GoFundMe page is pictured here: wilson_Alison When I saw it, I assumed this was a relative of Officer Wilson. Matt Pearce has been told by the organizers of the Shield of Hope group that she is not related to the officer.

The donations took off and the girl and her mom got scared and reached out to the Police dept. to take over the site. You cannot transfer ownership of a page to someone else so they stopped donations to the original page and started a new one with the charity, Shield of Hope, that has been in existence for years. But it was not set-up for this purpose and there are tax laws that need to be looked at. So they decided to shut down donations (after all it wasn’t their idea to solicit donations, they were helping out this girl and donations were coming in hot and fast). They have to ensure they have the right avenue to collect this money and be sure that it doesn’t harm Officer Wilson. Think about if charges get filed against him and he has to have a bond hearing. If having this money at his disposal provides a flight risk, the court may take it from him in setting bail. Leaving him nothing to mount his defense.

I got an update to the original gofundmesite the day before donations stopped. I went to the page and noticed the announcement about Shield of Hope was gone and in its place was a plea to send donations to the Ferguson Police department. They changed the goal from $235K to $300K and there had been 3 or 4 donations made within an hour of me looking at the page. There was no facebook account associated with it and without the original collector putting one up, the page couldn’t be allowed to continue.

Perhaps this is the confusion of the facebook administrators. They thought the original one would just start up again and didn’t realize the girl or her mom didn’t want her facebook used for it any longer.

By all accounts, the girl’s fundraising efforts took off like a shot and caught everyone, including Officer Wilson’s legal counsel off guard. They best get up to speed quick and make the most of people’s attention in collecting to mount a defense, if needed.

  4. The truth will set you free……how free is free? Time and time again, Al Sharpton has organized Lynch mobs with the same results. No charges filed or acquittal. He’s marched up and down streets chanting “no justice, no peace” and even though every cause he’s supported wound up being based on nothing but lies and liberal media spin, he still managed to ruin the lives of many innocent people. He uses the black community for financial personal gain and that race card has been very profitable for him. When will this monster be held accountable for his misdeeds?

    • Chump wants to be the next Rev Al and Jesse. I did a quick glance, and lmbo *could have missed* but any case that ole Chump has “came to bring awareness of any sort” in Arkansas, I see nothing where he helped anything. Just a fly by night mention and poof gone. ♫♫That’s the way I like it♫♫

    • Yes!

and according to Clarence Page, esteemed black columnist Chicago Trib, Obama is channeling his inner black rage through Sharpton. ugh!!

  5. Hellllloooooo Annette!

Just stopped in to see what discussions were underway in regards to the events in Ferguson, MO. It looks like the Scheme Team has opened up their playbook and are girding their loins for the upcoming dash for the cash. A few returning vets (Crump, Parks, Sharpton and JJ) joined by some newly drafted -but experienced- grifters (Malik Shabazz, Anthony Shahid, Antonio French, Jamilah Nasheed, and Maria Chappelle-Nadal) are lining up to extort the Ferguson PD and St Louis County PD, and they don’t mind if a few businesses get burned, or a few lives are ruined (least of all, Darren Wilson’s) in the process. But it should be a fair game with Eric Holder acting as the referee, right? /s

    • Hi! Great to see you again. The Brown case does have a lot of similarities to the Zimmerman case doesn’t it. The playbook is definitely opened again.

Great hearing from you. Let’s hope for a just result in this case whatever the facts may be.

  6. Dr. Baden, hired by the Brown family, to conduct a 2nd independent autopsy, is of the opinion all the shots that hit Michael were fired from the front

You know that the fake examiner (no credentials and the field, even before this trial, is all up in arms that he does autopsies) did something of an autopsy on the 17th (but it was already at the mortuary and embalmed) and Baden didn’t fly in until the 19th. This “exam” was never meant to go into evidence. Just another Crump and Parks manipulation, trying to get *some* information to feed to witnesses for their “narratives”. The real medical examiner who did the first (unreleased autopsy) wrote a recent article and she blasted this Shawn Percells guy for doing autopsies without training or being a medical examiner. But since it’s not going to court, I guess it didn’t matter to Crump. And Baden didn’t bother requesting pay, since he really didn’t do anything.

When will Parks and Crump be caught and put into prison?

    • It’s unbelievable how Crump and Parks keep lying and profiting isn’t it? In the meantime, they leave in their wake the message that if you’re black you can’t catch a break and oh by the way, donate to this family, they lost a son to a white killer. See you at the next one!

    • If it’s a statewide curriculum being taught in every school, same textbooks, standardized testing, etc… then the only real difference between the school districts in the state that are scoring in the 95%-99% percentile and the school district that scored 7% is the student body itself.

    • Hi JJ. Welcome to the blog.

I don’t know about needing to call anyone anything. I don’t think someone’s death absolves them of being characterized in a negative light, if indeed someone chose to describe a dead kid as a punk.

In the situation of Mike Brown, I’ve seen him described as a punk and also as a thug. This is likely due to his aggressive and mean behavior in robbing a convenience store and shoving a little store clerk. I can understand how some would see him that way.

Do you believe because he died, only nice things should be said? Should the behavior people witnessed and use to characterized him in a negative light be ignored because he died?

How would you feel if evidence does come out he injured the Officer who shot him? Would you describe him as a punk then?

  7. This interview conducted with Brown’s cousin on August 10th as they contemplated getting a lawyer to combat the police narrative debunks that Mike was going to start trade school for heating and air conditioning. I suspected that wasn’t accurate as no classes started on Aug. 11th for that course. We also learn Mike had a girlfriend and sadly, he had to sleep on a couch at Grandma’s house. His passion appears to have been his rapping to music and he had a jar full of ideas for his songs.

The cousin doesn’t mention that Mike attended summer school. There is a photo of his diploma he got in March 2014 in the article. But we know from later reports, Mike had a bit more work to do to finish.

    H/T @YancyFaith

    • Interesting… according to that article he was going to Vatterot for the audio recording program, not HVAC as his family would later claim. Guess Crump thought aspiring rapper wasn’t sympathetic enough and had the family change it up in future re-tellings.

Whatever he planned to study, he didn’t look too happy or proud to be graduating from high school in this photo (h/t ches1)

I can’t help but wonder why he decided to rob a liquor store on Saturday afternoon when he was bound for college on Monday morning… self sabotage?

        • PS … welcome back to the blogosphere, missed your posts and discussions 🙂

Have you heard anything from Jordan lately, he popped in my mind recently and was wondering how he was doing?

          • Jordan last posted here on July 17th. On July 16th he left us this update on what is going on with him.

            Open Discussion – June 18, 2014

He may be reading here but not posting. He also participates at the treehouse so look for him there too. He asked Rumpole a technical question about getting back onto his forum. Not sure if he’s posting there now or not.

          • I miss Jordan too… I know he has had a lot on his plate this year. I gonna go check at the Tree House Pray room. I know he was posting there a bit. Praying they got his meds working. He was in a lot of pain. And he lost his Dear Mother..

      • It also looks like the cap and gown were last minute loaners… the sleeves are way too short, the sash is too short, and the cap barely fits his head.

          • The sharing of cap and gowns for Pictures is very common. They are only Props. I thought I read that the grad pics were taken in March, which again they do take Grad Pics a ways prior to Grad time. Here they take them summer before school starts in fall, so that will be in year book. And same photographer takes all the yrbook Sr pics . Your picture is taken for year book free, so that everyone is included. They don’t order the Grad stuff (cap and gowns, grad invites and such) until spring time. April iirc with both my girls… And most all places use the cheap o grad gowns. Not the real heavy ones like they may use in College grads. If he grad from Summer school, they may just have some that were donated and reuse which I personally think is ok, hell if having a hard enough time making ends meet, that is an expense that some may not can afford. It would add insult to injury, working hard to finally get there, then not able to purchase a gown for the ceremony. I just looked, lol people have them on EBAY for resale!!! IIRC the caps come in one size with elastic to hold on. I may have misread on the March date activity (pic v actual school grad) Graduations usually happen at semester. I do know that the places that do GED have a graduation when that group finishes. Saw it on news one time. And I never thought abt Home Schooled graduation, til this past May. Got an invite, I guess its thru whatever … State Dept of Ed? anyway they have a big graduation ceremony … That was … different lol.

          • from article link . Pictures were taken March. He was in an Alternative learning program.. so that’s prob why the graduation date was when it was, rather than at Semester as most graduations are. Also, 100 Seniors is a very small class.

***The graduation photo was taken in March.***

Back then, Mike Brown was still just Mike Brown. A student with a football tackle’s build. **Just one of the 100 or so in his senior class at Normandy High,** a struggling school that had lost its state accreditation and, along with it, a measure of its pride, in an area already beset by challenges.

***That day, he and the other students passed around a handful of green graduation gowns, slipping them on and off, as they posed one-by-one for pictures.***

In his photo, Brown barely smiled, his green mortarboard tilted back on his large head, a red sash around his shoulders — a slight bravado that, his teacher noted, might have obscured how difficult reaching this moment had been.

***Michael Brown officially graduated Aug. 1, later than some and months after the photo was taken. He still had credits to earn then. He was in an alternative learning program, a way to help the students facing the longest academic odds.***

      • LMAO. That’s what I am saying too. If he didn’t, hell I would be signing papers faster than the ink would come out… LMAO… betcha Chump pissed…

Brown’s family has denied he had a juvenile record.

Brown family attorney Anthony Gray calls the lawsuit a “shameful” attempt to “assassinate the character of Mike Brown Jr.”

        >>>>“There’s no other legitimate basis to go almost two years into his past,” Gray says.<<<<<<

I betcha lunch anywhere wanna eat, since they had just left store that they robbed…. and LEO pulls up says get out of road.. *at that moment prob started freaking out… then officer goes on… THEN backs up… Yep MB and DJ knew they been had…

      • Exactly… obviously there is a criminal record there or the case would have been dismissed out of hand.

The court wouldn’t entertain hearing arguments concerning the release or suppression of records that don’t even exist.

And judging by the attorneys “two years” comment and Brown’s teacher’s sympathetic comments about him falling in with the wrong crowd in recent years (why is it always argued that someone else was the bad influence? the robbery video seems to suggest that Brown was the bad influence), I’m guessing there’s a pretty extensive record spanning the past several years.

    • **BROWN FAMILY SAYS NO JUVIE RECORD….. BROWN FAMILY LAWYER TALKS ABOUT GOING 2 YRS BACK…. HMMM so if no Juvie Record, what that about? Whats all the freaking fuss about IF HE DIDNT HAVE A JUVENILE RECORD?? lol wouldn’t be anything to unseal! **** JMHO, first flag of there is one….

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A St. Louis County Circuit Court Judge is reviewing whether to release any possible juvenile records of Michael Brown.

Judge Ellen Siwak heard arguments for the release from attorneys for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the online news service GotNews.

“I’ve heard from law enforcement that there is in fact a juvenile record, and I want to know the truth,” GotNews Editor-in-Chief Charles Johnson says. “I think the American people deserve that, given how much attention the Justice Department and numerous media outlets have already lavished upon Ferguson.”

Johnson says he wants to let people know the truth, and let the chips fall where they may.

Brown’s family has denied he had a juvenile record.

Brown family attorney Anthony Gray calls the lawsuit a “shameful” attempt to “assassinate the character of Mike Brown Jr.”

“There’s no other legitimate basis to go almost two years into his past,” Gray says.

He says it’s an attempt to make the police shooting look justified.

“Even as he is laying to rest, they are still trying to kill him in a sense with these attempts to assassinate what legacy or reputation he may have today that he can no longer defend,” Gray says.

A juvenile court attorney says the records should remain private, even after death.

      • “A juvenile court attorney says the records should remain private, even after death.”

The legal rationale for keeping the records private no longer applies.

Releasing the records will not harm employment, educational, or housing opportunities.

  8. Wilson actions fall within the scope of legal justification: Missouri Revised Statutes
    Chapter 563
    Defense of Justification
    Section 563.046

    August 28, 2013

Law enforcement officer’s use of force in making an arrest.

563.046. 1. A law enforcement officer need not retreat or desist from efforts to effect the arrest, or from efforts to prevent the escape from custody, of a person he reasonably believes to have committed an offense because of resistance or threatened resistance of the arrestee. In addition to the use of physical force authorized under other sections of this chapter, he is, subject to the provisions of subsections 2 and 3, justified in the use of such physical force as he reasonably believes is immediately necessary to effect the arrest or to prevent the escape from custody.

    2. The use of any physical force in making an arrest is not justified under this section unless the arrest is lawful or the law enforcement officer reasonably believes the arrest is lawful.

    3. A law enforcement officer in effecting an arrest or in preventing an escape from custody is justified in using deadly force only

    (1) When such is authorized under other sections of this chapter; or

    (2) When he reasonably believes that such use of deadly force is immediately necessary to effect the arrest and also reasonably believes that the person to be arrested

    (a) Has committed or attempted to commit a felony; or

    (b) Is attempting to escape by use of a deadly weapon; or

    (c) May otherwise endanger life or inflict serious physical injury unless arrested without delay.

    4. The defendant shall have the burden of injecting the issue of justification under this section.

    (L. 1977 S.B. 60)

  9. So far I find witness Michael Brady most credible for several reasons I will outline. 1) Michael Brady gives a timeline of “about 10 seconds”. This is a close match to the alleged audio of the shooting which is about 7.5 seconds long. 2) Michael Brady says there was no “first shot”. This is also consistent with the alleged audio that shows two volleys of five. 3) Michael Brady discusses a “tussle at the vehicle”. This is consistent with what we know regarding Darren Wilson being taken to the hospital for treatment of facial injuries 4) Michael Brady makes it clear Browns hands were not up. This is consistent with the Crump-topsy which challenges the hands up narrative.

  10. Several of the Facebook posters at “Ark’s place” (Annette will understand the reference) are nurses and have raised an important and valid issue. If Mike Brown was shot multiple times in the arms severing muscle and tendons……. it would make it mechanically impossible for Brown to have his hands up.

    • ***Clarification*** whomever “Ark’s Place” is is not Arkansas Mimi… i saw a comment once ref to someone with Shortened nickname Ark, and lol some idiot gave me the credit of being that person. No one corrected, but I am going to here. Ok.. carryon 😉

      • Ark is the person on facebook who created a debate page to talk about the Zimmerman case by both parties the day O’Mara shut-down Zimmerman’s defense FB page (Aug. 22, 2012).

It’s where all the fighting goes on. Most of the Traybots left the page and it was left to Zimmerman supporters.

I found the conversation devolved into personal nastiness (Ark loves that kind of thing) and left the page over a year ago. However, a lot of my facebook friends from the Zimmerman case who are really nice people still post there.

  11. According to ABC News there are hospital photographs of Darren Wilson’s injuries which McCullough has made clear will be shown to the grand jury. It is my belief that McCullough’s decision to show the injury photographs to the grand jury that is the real motivation for trying to have McCullough removed

  12. Here’s an interesting thought experiment…….. How would the state of Missouri or the DOJ make a case against officer Wilson while having to deliberately exclude Brown’s accomplice Dorian Johnson due to credibility issues and impeachable statements?

  13. It doesn’t look like Kevin Seltzer is going to help us get to the truth by provided the full unedited videos he took in the aftermath of the shooting. I’ve asked several time.

He posted these two tweets earlier this afternoon.

    http://instagram.com/p/s-atkCDSug/

  14. Checkout this video I made. CNN actually ended up impeaching themselves regarding their claim of a”game changing real time response at the time of the shooting” Pay attention to when CNN zooms in on the officer “putting up crime scene tape”. This fact alone proves the video was shot a significant amount of time after CNN alleges and with plenty of time for the contractors to be told about the “hands up” meme from a third party and not something the contractors actually witnessed.

  15. I’ve tried numerous times to post on the treehouse Mike Brown threads. Today’s post hasn’t shown up either. I’ll repost it here in case I need these sources in the future.

Regarding Dorian Johnson and his whereabouts during the altercation between Officer Wilson and Mike Brown.

In Frances Robles piece published Aug. 19, 2014 “Shooting Accounts Differ” she interviewed Michael Brady.

“Mr. Brady said he could see Mr. Johnson at the front passenger side of the car when he and Mr. Brown suddenly started running. Mr. Brady did not hear a gunshot or know what caused them to run. But he said he did see a police officer get out of the patrol car and start walking briskly while firing on Mr. Brown as he fled.”

At 3:20 in this interview Chief Belmar of St. Louis County informs that after Office Wilson told the two individuals to get out of the street, one individual complied and one did not.

Dorian’s lawyer told us in the interview below at 1:10 mark of this video that investigators told Dorian before he gave his statement to them, (paraphrasing) we generally know what happened, we know the answers keep that in mind when you tell us what happened. In other words, don’t lie. Mr. Bosley goes on to explain that while Dorian wasn’t always truthful with the media (didn’t mention strong armed robbery), he was very truthful and forthcoming with the police and FBI.

  16. I’ve tried several times to post at the treehouse. While after some prompting some of my comments went public, at least 4 did not. The conversation had moved on by the time some of my posts were made public. Not sure what the problem is but I tweeted @thelastrefuge2 that I’m going to stop participating there. I got no response.

Below is one post that never posted at the treehouse but may reveal more sunlight on Piaget’s initial statements that I believe was made to a reporter at the St. Louis Dispatch before her interview on camera that day. I wonder if talking with Mike Brown’s Mom and Anthony Shahid did indeed change what Piaget said on camera in her first interview.

Initially, Andrew Kirell a reporter for Mediaite filed live updates . At 11:24pm on August 9th, he updated a report that St. Louis Dispatch had done.

    CrenshawInitialStmt

The St. Louis Dispatch article has revised that part of Piaget’s reporting a few hours later removing the rear in their reporting. 🙂

Not too long afterward, people were tweeting what was attributed to Piaget Crenshaw.

    http://twitter.com/menendymendez/status/498324025282555904

Did the reporter get it wrong? Will Piaget be able to explain why this may have been her initial statement?

  17. The workers were filmed in the east parking lot 3 or 4 minutes after the shooting. We see police in the background putting up crime scene tape.

A number of people have questioned exactly how much they saw from that vantage point. The ground has a hill in it between the parking lot and where the body of Mike Brown finally rested.

One worker said he saw Mike Brown stumble forward toward the officer about 25 feet. So, it’s possible that the workers saw Mike Brown 25 feet further east on the road. Would that be near the parking lot entrance to the lot they were in?

Some contributors at the treehouse found what may have been Dorian in the same parking lot as the workers were in. He was wearing a black top and grey pants.

    http://twitter.com/Nettles18/status/512754262997073920

In video believed to have been recorded by a resident with first name Kevin, just after the worker’s leave the parking lot, they stop at the end of the driveway for about a minute talking to someone in a car coming into the parking lot. Seconds later we see a burgundy GMC Van parked in the parking lot and what appears to be Dorian Johnson between the silver car and burgundy truck. He’s crouched down behind silver car and beside lady in teal clothes in this still photo.

Dorian and 2 others appear to crouch down beside the car. I wonder if that isn’t Dorian showing his friends how he positioned himself behind the white 2 door car that Michael Brady described. Is it possible that this is where Dorian hid behind the car and that Michael ran past this position and when Dorian appeared to not move, Michael came back towards the officer to buy time for Dorian to get out of there.

In this video at 1:04 you can see when the workers pull out of the driveway the silver car there but no burgundy GMC. However, you can barely see another car at the entrance of the driveway. Is that the burgundy van?

We know from the Ace Johnson video, that worker truck is seen pulling out of the driveway at the beginning of Ace’s recording but it appears to stop at the entrance to the driveway and sit there for about a minute. At 1:10 of Ace’s video we see it pull out and turn left to leave.

    Screen Cap here:
    http://twitter.com/Nettles18/status/508495337347354624

This video of the ambulance arriving shot just seconds after the worker truck left the driveway we see a burgundy GMC Truck now parked in the lot and I think Dorian is seen showing/telling his friends what just happened.

The ambulance was reported as arriving at 12:07 and at 12:10 EMT reported Michael had “injuries incompatible with life “- according to two ambulance administrators.

  18. Using this photo posted at the treehouse, I’ve added what could be the last 3 shots fired by Officer Wilson.

Recalling that the worker says Michael Brown came 25 feet in the direction of the Officer and that the Officer was backing up as he shot, I opine the 3 cones located to the south of Brown’s body could be shell casings showing about where the Officer was standing as the casing ejected to the right of the shooter.

Factoring in the autopsy report that the last 2 shots were to Michael’s head, it stands to reason that the 2nd last shot could very well have been the one to the top of his head. Dr. Baden said that shot would have stopped Brown in his tracks and he’d have dropped immediately.

After the autopsy report came out about one bullet to just above the right eye, indicates that Brown was already falling when that bullet hit him. Because of it’s downward path direction of exiting through the eye, entering the jaw, exiting and entering into the collar bone, we know Brown was perpendicular to the ground. One expert, CYRIL WECHT, FORENSIC PATHOLOGIST/ATTORNEY, on CNN explained it this way.

    Transcript: http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1408/18/sitroom.02.html

I don’t think the shots to Michael’s arm would have caused him to fall. The only way the shot to the top of his head could have happened it his head was pointed directly at the officer. So I think the 2nd last shot hit the top of his head causing him to drop in his tracks as Dr. Baden said he would and the last shot that traveled downward on his face was after the bullet to the brain.

Looking at the markers and visualizing the shots that occurred, you can see how close the officer allowed Michael to get to him before taking fatal action.

  19. someone had a picture posted on twitter, I WANT to think its Renewzit, she is good at that, not sure if I remb correctly who posted tho ~ but it was a picture of autopsy body diagram, and then a photo of possible sprinter/runner . the position the runner was in had red arrows to areas MB was shot. Indicating poss position MB was in when shot. I will try see if I can find again… It MIGHT have been on your twitter line..

  20. Is there an offical time in any of the case documentation as to what time the crime scene tape was put up? I we know that time we know what time the contractor video was shot.

  21. from Rumpole link to a live stream… idiots trying to get LEO to do something. How is this anything peaceful at near midnight. Misinformation and the ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ Fundraising Campaign

GoFundMe is home to nationally referenced fundraising campaigns that include both the ‘Michael Brown Memorial Fund’ and the ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ campaign, along with many other campaigns related to the awful events in Ferguson, MO.

Much like Facebook, Twitter, and many other websites, GoFundMe is an open social media platform where opposing ideas and viewpoints exist. If GoFundMe were to remove campaigns because they are unpopular, it would set a dangerous precedent moving forward for all users.

Specifically, GoFundMe will not remove a campaign because it has received unwanted and/or inappropriate comments from visitors. Doing so would provide a simple formula to any group interested in removing a campaign that they disagree with. As a reminder, choosing not to support a given campaign says just as much about you as those you do support.

To help reduce the continued spread of misinformation regarding the ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ fundraising campaign, GoFundMe is addressing a series of misconceptions below:

    1. GoFundMe is raising money for Officer Darren Wilson.

False. GoFundMe does not engage in fundraising activities on anyone’s behalf. GoFundMe is a neutral technology platform that allows individuals to raise money online. All activity is conducted by campaign organizers and their supporters acting of their own accord.

    2. The ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ campaign contains hateful content.

    False.

    a) Despite altered images of the campaign’s primary photo circulating on Twitter, at no time was the campaign’s content in violation of any of GoFundMe’s Terms of Service. Unfortunately, some visitors left offensive remarks that were in violation of GoFundMe’s terms and were later removed.

    b) The campaign organizer repeatedly acknowledged and apologized for any offensive comments left by others and manually removed the comments from appearing on the campaign.

    c) As reported below, a malicious ‘trolling’ effort was then launched out of a forum thread on the ‘4chan’ website with the sole purpose of defacing the campaign and inciting strong reactions.

    d) To put an end to the trolling attack, GoFundMe has prevented donor names and comments from appearing on the campaign. This feature is now available to all campaign organizers.

GoFundMe cannot penalize campaign organizers for unwanted comments posted to their campaigns by others.

    http://gawker.com/gofundme-shuts-down-comments-on-darren-wilson-support-p-1625555938

    3. The ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ campaign was created by an organized hate group.

False. GoFundMe has been in contact with the campaign organizer and absolutely no evidence supports this claim.

    4. The ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ campaign was hidden by GoFundMe.

False. At no time did GoFundMe remove the ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ campaign from appearing publicly, or tamper with the site’s search results. Each campaign must meet the same set of requirements prior to being included within GoFundMe’s search results. This campaign no longer meets GoFundMe’s stated requirement of having a valid Facebook account connected. However, GoFundMe has been in contact with the campaign organizer and has no reason to question their authenticity. Finally, GoFundMe does possess the ability to place a hold on all donations raised by any campaign that warrants further investigation.

    5. Donations to the ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ campaign were stopped by GoFundMe.

False. Each and every GoFundMe campaign organizer is able to decide for themselves when they would like to stop accepting donations. Organizers may also choose to begin accepting donations again at a later date, or remove their campaign entirely.

    6. The ‘Support Officer Wilson’ campaign violates GoFundMe’s own terms.

False. GoFundMe cannot penalize campaign organizers by removing a campaign simply because unwanted comments were posted by others. While GoFundMe understands the strong emotions surrounding the terrible events in Ferguson, MO, no further action is justified or appropriate concerning the ‘Support Officer Darren Wilson’ fundraising campaign. http://www.gofundme.com/2014/09/02/understanding-gofundmes-policies/

  23. As far as Ferguson is concerned there will be no good outcome for the town itself.

If GJ doesn’t think enough evidence to charge …. they will riot
If GJ does find evidence and charges … they will riot
If he is found not guilty …. they will riot
If he is found guility …. they will riot in celebration.

No matter what the outcome … they will riot.

    • Sadly your exactly right. And it just like with the TM protesters, they don’t even know what the hell they are rioting about. Just because. No good outcome at all. FOR ANYONE>

  24. Darren Wilson’s radio calls show fatal encounter was brief
    posted 1 hr ago

FERGUSON • The Aug. 9 fatal shooting here that sparked three months of protests and calls for change from around the world happened in less than 90 seconds, interviews and an analysis of police and EMS records shows.

The records, obtained by the Post-Dispatch via Missouri’s Sunshine Law, provide the best timeline yet for the events surrounding the shooting of Michael Brown Jr., 18. Also released were police station surveillance videos that provide the most recent images of Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, who has not been seen publicly since the shooting. Wilson left the police station for the hospital two hours after the shooting, accompanied by other officers and his union lawyer.

  25. (Don’t know how to post the video but there is video in the article.)
Shortly after Brown’s death, a grand jury began hearing evidence to determine whether Wilson should be indicted in the killing. The grand jury’s decision is expected any day.

    A FATAL ENCOUNTER

At 11:29 a.m. on Aug. 9, a dispatcher asked Wilson to help other officers search for a man who had reportedly threatened to kill a woman. At 11:47 a.m., Wilson said he would respond to a call for a 2-month-old with breathing problems. Wilson drove his police SUV from the west side of West Florissant Avenue to Glenark Drive, east of Canfield Drive and Copper Creek Court, where the fatal encounter would soon occur.

At 11:53 a.m., a dispatcher reported a “stealing in progress” at the Ferguson Market. The 911 operator was still talking to the caller in the background. In a second broadcast, 19 seconds later, the dispatcher says the suspect is a black male in a white T-shirt running toward QuikTrip, and had stolen a box of Swisher cigars.

About four minutes later, there’s more detail: the suspect is wearing a red Cardinals hat, a white T-shirt, yellow socks and khaki shorts, and is accompanied by another man.

At noon, Wilson reports that he’s back in service from the sick-baby call. He then asks the officers searching for the thieves – units 25 and 22 – if they need him. Seven seconds later, an unidentified officer broadcasts that the suspects had disappeared.

At 12:02 p.m., Wilson says, “21. Put me on Canfield with two. And send me another car.” His call triggered at least two officers to head his way, including one who said he was close to Wilson.

Sources have told the Post-Dispatch that Wilson has told authorities that before the radio call he had stopped to tell Brown and his friend, Dorian Johnson, 22, to quit walking down the middle of the street. They kept walking, and he then realized that Brown matched the description of the suspect in the stealing call.

Wilson then asked dispatch for backup and backed up his SUV next to Brown and Johnson.

Wilson said Brown attacked him, sources said, and that they struggled over the officer’s gun before Wilson was able to fire twice, hitting Brown once. Brown ran away.

Wilson has told authorities that he called, “Shots fired, send all cars,” on his radio, but during the struggle his radio had been jarred and the channel changed.

The Post-Dispatch reviewed radio calls made during that period on all St. Louis County police channels, the fire channel used by Ferguson and other channels publicly archived online and could not locate the call. At least one channel on the Ferguson police radio is “receive-only,” meaning that the call may not have been broadcast.

After the call, Wilson pursued Brown on foot.

According to sources, Wilson has said that Brown turned and charged, and that Wilson then fired once, paused when Brown appeared to flinch and fired again, multiple times. He said he then radioed for an ambulance.

Witnesses’ accounts vary widely. Most saw only part of the encounter. Johnson said that Wilson grabbed Brown by the throat, and, later, tried to pull him into the SUV. Johnson also said that Wilson’s fatal shot came after Brown turned around and was getting to the ground with his hands in the air.

Other witnesses have said that Brown stood still or walked, staggered, stumbled or fell toward Wilson before he was killed. Some witnesses said Brown’s hands were up; others said they were not.

  26. HELP ARRIVES

Forty-one seconds after Wilson’s call, unit 25 reported that he was about to arrive at Wilson’s location, saying he was “going out on Canfield” and accompanied by the sound of his racing engine.

Forty-eight seconds later, another officer had arrived or was about to, announcing, “22’s out.”

At 12:03 p.m., an eyewitness to the shooting Tweeted:

If his smartphone’s clock, or Twitter’s, agreed with the clock on dispatch records, Brown was killed less than 61 seconds after the dispatcher acknowledged that Wilson had stopped two men.

At one minute, 13 seconds after Wilson’s call, an unidentified officer has arrived and asks, “Where’s the other one?” referring to Johnson.

Eleven seconds later, there’s a brief burst of static and an unintelligible bit of speech. A dispatcher responds, “10-4 on Canfield.”

Twenty seconds later, unit 25 called in to ask if the dispatcher could send a supervisor to Canfield and Copper Creek Court.

At 12:05, a dispatcher called for an ambulance, erroneously reporting that someone had been hit with a Taser.

By 12:07 p.m., a woman wailed in the background as an officer called over his radio: “Get us several more units over here. There’s gonna be a problem.”

Christine Byers of the Post-Dispatch contributed to this report.

  27. This entire mess has sickened me. It’s things like this and the Zimmerman case that show the difference between many blacks and whites. This may sound awful, but it would not bother me a bit to see LE opening fire on these “people.” All of these “protesters” are flagrantly breaking our laws and once again, we are letting them do it and get away with it. Consider that they have the time to do this. Do they have jobs or are they living on the white people’s dime? Aren’t we financing their misdeeds? If you were a business owner, what would you do? It’s something to think about.

I say shoot them until it stops because that is the only way we will end it. These people have a mindset of violence that will continue as long as Al Sharpton and his kind have a voice. Who on earth in their right minds can stomach the garbage he spews? It’s pretty sad that anyone can believe anything he says.

I do not normally condone violence but if you have a better solution, speak up. Our silence is food for their violence. Yet, we let them get away with it and wonder why.

    • I somewhat agree. As long as we let them freaking bully people. I don’t care what pigmentation your skin is. This is bull$hit. Everything is not black/white. LOL now the protestors are mad cause new folks came and taking over. Something has got to come to head and fast. What has the President said about it??? He been quick to jump in and give his 2cents worth. He truly looked pizzed when he spoke the other night after the Grand Jury decision was read. He put his self in both of these cases and just what about the OTHER tons of people who have had stuff happen. I blame Obummer on some of this crap. Now there are businesses burnt down. People out of work. I wouldn’t doubt how many of the thugs work/don’t work but they cant be doing much, out terrorizing the city all night and day. Grrrr. God Be With US ALL!

    • Jordan!! ♥♥♥
I think of you often and hoped you were doing well health-wise.
I’ve been very busy at home trying to help people in my community who can’t or won’t help themselves right now.

I saw your post a few days ago and was relieved to hear your fighting spirit.

I wish you a fun and festive Christmas season and may 2015 be your best year yet.

Take care and thanks so much for keeping in touch.

  28. Thank you for your kind words, Annette. Adriene has encouraged me to get back to our blog…. she says it is good therapy for me. It is difficult for me to keep up with what is going on but I try. Dementia is an awful illness. Imagine not being able to finish a conversation that you started because you cannot remember what you said. It’s enough to make you cry. I lost my Mom in May of this year to Alzheimer’s and dementia after a 3 and one half year battle so it should not be a surprise but it is. I have always thought I was invincible. LOL.

I have a missed a lot.. Whatever happened to the George Zimmerman saga? I read somewhere that he was dead and had shot himself… then read it was not true..

Whatever became of the various lawsuits? Did George ever prevail in anything?

Notice how “incomplete” in content this has become.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Zimmerman

I would think this new issue in Ferguson might be enough to push white people and common sense blacks over the edge.

IMO, things like this will likely create a new form of racism with 2 of the most powerful men on the planet giving riots, looting and bad behavior their stamp of approval. When the President and AG take such positions, it makes me wonder how they can get away with it. Who is really in charge?

Have we all lost our minds?

The only solution seems to be violence. I want to believe that none of us really want that but, OTH, no one is doing anything to realistically stop it and now I notice that an increasing number of white people have climbed on board.

Again, I hate to keep saying this and I hope I am wrong, but each of these “episodes” appears to me to be pushing us closer to a real race war, the likes of which we have never seen.

Can that be what Sharpton and his ilk really want? That’s what bothers me. Surely they know that they cannot “win,” so what is their real goal?
